This time next week I'll be married!!!!!!!
Can't believe that I am going to become Mrs Kate Summers next weekend, I'm so excited!!!

Think everything is sorted, though I am going to phone the register office tomorrow to make sure it is all booked.

I don't finish work till Wednesday which is a bit annoying, but hopefully it will go quickly. We are then going down to my parents on Thursday, and Clark is going to Brighton on Friday to meet up with his family.

Had my hen do on Friday which I really enjoyed. Everyone seemed to get on really well, though my workmates ended up on a different table to the rest of us which felt a bit strange. They also all went to a different pub after the meal, but to be honest I much preferred Orange Tree, so am quite glad we didn't join them at the Slug and Lettuce.

6 days to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have LastFM now- yay:) I'm on there as duchess80 as well. Only problem is that I've got a Creative Zen, not an Ipod, so don't think there is a way of synching that on to LastFm. Probably for the best though as it will just reveal my compulsive listening to Britpop bands on my way to work!

We are looking for wedding rings on Saturday, and doing our wedding list at Debenhams. Can't believe how fast the time is going. It is 7 weeks on Saturday! I don't feel like I'm concentrating on it as much as I should be though, as pesky things like work keep getting in my way! Oh well, I'm sure everything will come together ok.

Was going to have a nap when I got home as Clark is at the cinema. Think I've left it a bit late now though!

149 days to go!!!
So as some of you may know, we have brought the wedding forward, and shall be getting married in 149 days!!!!!

We will be having a v small ceremony at Hove Town Hall on 23rd August, followed by a yummy chinese, and an excellent party a few weeks later!

I can't wait! Although there has been a muted response from our family, we are so much happier with this plan, and I can't wait to become Mrs Summers:)

I've got to go on a serious diet now though:(

Clark is in Sweden till Monday, so as soon as he comes back we had better get into serious wedding planning mode!

Attention Quiz Fans- I need you again!
A big thank you and e-beers to Mark and Lucy as I won the last work quiz- the princely sum of a fiver- it did help that I was the only entrant though:)

I need some help on another quiz now- you need to find the word that ends the first phrase and starts the second...

Top Divan
Sub Mortar

I had a good birthday by the way, but am a bit down at the moment as my gerbil, Brett, passed away yesterday:( Work was also evil today- had to drink wine as soon as I got home.

I'm trying to do a quiz for a work competition, and just have 2 more answers left to get, so hoping someone on my friendslist can help, given what a lovely intelligent lot you are:)

Below are 3 descriptions for the same word- what is it?

Stopping device: Type of fern: Thicket

Strong cotton fabric: Furrow: Marching exercise

Thanks in advance for your help.

This is just a quick post to let everyone know that I am still alive! Have the afternoon off as worked on Saturday- yay:) Am looking forward to my favourite pasttime- an afternoon nap.

Hope everyone is ok, and I must try to post more regularly. Believe it or not, I do check lj everday, just never get round to posting!

Happy post about Summer Sundae to come soon, but first- argh, Bright Eyes have cancelled/postponed(?) their UK tour, including the Nottingham gig that Clark and I were going to on Friday. Rubbish, especially as we have already paid for our hotel room. Only explanation is that it is due to band illness. Hmm, great explanation. This is pretty crap in contract with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club who unfortunately had to cancel one date, but put on an acoustic show for free on the same night to make it up to the fans.

I've not posted for weeks- did anyone miss me?;) I've still been reading lj everyday, just not felt inspired enough to actually type anything. Plus, last time I tried to, the site kept crashing while in the middle of an "epic" post. Not good.

Not much to report really. My credit card balance transfer thing is finally sorted out, though had several problems due to the computer crashing and one transfer going through twice = many disasters such as going over my credit limit etc. Hopefully if I pay £300 a month off, it will be paid within the interest free period. Unfortunately this may not actually leave me with sufficient money to live on- hmm.

Shower has finally been fixed after 5 and a half weeks- yay:)

Clark and I watched Twenty20 cricket on Friday and got hideously drunk- had to drink a bottle of wine and 2 lagers between us in about 5 minutes as didn't realise we wouldn't be able to take it in. Resulted in 2 day hangover- nice!

Had the day off today- hurrah! Work has been causing me quite a bit of stress recently, so needed the day to recover. Have been mainly watching tv, reading, going on the computer and finally starting "Zoo Tycoon"- a DS game that I bought in February but had been putting off playing.

Not much planned this week. Clark and I are going to a wedding on the 7th July, and we need to save all our money for the expense of that:(

Facebook
Does anyone out there actually understand Facebook? Clark set it up for me last night, and it is well confusing. What are the walls? What does it all mean?!

Oops, I'm not very good at this updating lark am I?

Clark is in a scarily energetic mood today, and has already been to Tescos and now gone into town, whereas i am obviously still in bed, watching some "Saturday Kitchen".

The last couple of weeks have been pretty good. The Easter holidays were fantastic. We arrived at my parents on the Thursday, and went straight to the village pub to enjoy wine and peanuts in a sunny beer garden. Friday was spent at the Ashdown Forest Llama Park, seeing cute llamas and alpacas and eating yummy sausage sandwiches. Saturday was spent shopping in Haywards Heath, and then lots of wine ruin at Bis. Easter Sunday, we had a lovely family meal and Clark played football with my cousins at my grans house. Monday was spent watching a very boring Arsenal match (though I was reading my book at the time), and finally back to Leicester on the Tuesday, and back to the rubness of work:(

Last weekend was pretty good. We went out with friends to Sumo, and then to the Black Horse, where Clark's uncle was playing! Sunday was the day of ruin, for both Clark and myself, as we were seriously hungover.

This last week has been a bit mixed, as Clark hasn't been feeling great, and work has been too busy. We watched "For Your Consideration" on Tuesday, which we were a bit disappointed with to be honest. I nearly fell asleep in the cinema! Wednesday was good though as it was pay review time. I got a £500 pay rise, which I thought was really good, until I worked out that it was only about a 2.5% increase. Then again, most people only got 2%, and I wasn't expecting anything given the shock 30% payrise I got last year! Also got £200 bonus- yay:)

I'm thinking of rejoining weightwatchers on the 30th April (ie. after payday, so i can actually afford to go). This means that I need to spend the next week eating all the bad food in the house;)

Peep Show
So, are Clark and I the last people to find out that there is a problem with playing series 3 on Playstations and older dvd players? I bought the dvd after Christmas, and didn't discover that it didn't work properly until a couple of weeks ago, which meant it was too late to return it as I'd bought it from Play. We then ordered a copy from CD Wow, which also didn't work. They sent us a replacement which arrived today, and surprise surprise, that doesn't work either:( Only now have I thought to look on google, and have discovered that it is fitted with RipGuard which stops it working on pcs, older dvd players and PS2's etc. Great. There is a warning about it on Amazon, but nothing on CD Wow or Play. Looks like we will have to get a new dvd player if we want to watch our own dvd. Thanks for that channel 4.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Clark and I went to the Phoenix to watch "Black Book" yesterday. What a film! It was definitely one of the best I have ever seen. Just so gripping with so many twists and turns. It really felt like being on a rollercoaster and far shorter than the 2 and a half hours that it actually lasted for. We are watching "Notes on a Scandal" on Monday, which I fear is going to suffer in comparison.

After the film we went to Fung Tung (?), the old Royal Phoenix opposite the cinema. It was buffet style, and was a serious disappointment. Maybe we have been spoilt by Terracotta, but paying £10 for some plates of lukewarm "sauce and vegetables" as all the meat had already been taken, was not really my idea of fun. The food wasn't topped up at all while we were there, and there didn't even seem to be labels telling you what the food was. It basically looked like leftovers from the a la carte menu that was going on downstairs. Clark and I will definitely not be returning!

Today was a lot better. We went to Birmingham for the first ever time and met up with Clare and her friend Mark. Birmingham is just so big, we were overwhelmed! We had yummy Wagamama, and then went to HMV. I bought series 2 of House for only £12!!! As well as the Mighty Boosh Live dvd for £6! Hurrah!

I've not posted for ages! Not been up to too much really. Work is ok, if a little busy at the moment. We went to see Perfume yesterday which was good, but had a very freaky ending. Am still addicted to Nintendogs, and have to play it every day.

We saw Brett Anderson last Monday, who I thought was brilliant. He even played "Trash" which was pretty surprising! It made me very disappointed that we can't go to the May dates.

I'm addicted to Nintendogs! Played it most of last night instead of watching the Brits, and then got up at 7.30 this morning, despite being on holiday, in order to play it again! Bought three other games yesterday- Zoo Tycoon, Hamsterz and Dr Kawashima's Brain Training. Thank goodness for birthday money! Not played any of these games yet, as need to keep training my miniature daschund! This is definitely one of the best presents ever, thanks Clark!

Happy Birthday to me
Hurrah, I'm having a lovely birthday so far. Clark got me a pink Nintendo DS Lite and Daschund Nintendogs for my birthday, and Bis tickets for Valentines day:) I'm very excited about going out to buy some more games for the DS. Any recommendations? I got the fourth series of Everybody Loves Raymond from Clark's parents, and money from other relatives. My parents are visiting on Saturday, so more pressies then, though they did send me a chocolate brownie heart through the post:)

Last night we watched "Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset" at the Phoenix which was excellent, then went to the Tamarind on Hinckley Road for a late night curry. Yum yum yum:) Today, once I've finally got dressed, we shall take a quick trip into town to buy some games, then on to Nando's and the cinema.

I'm so bored! Clark is at the football, so I didn't even get up till about 3. All I've done is the washing up, spoken to my brother and parents, and kept refreshing livejournal!

Spent yesterday hungover as went on a work night out on Friday. As I was stressed about certain things, I ended up drinking far too much wine, ate too little food, and was home by about 9.30! Rubbish!

We had a letter from the council last week along with 5 other houses, stating that there was "a large amount of domestic refuse" that had been left in the alleyway behind our houses, and that we had to clean it up within the next 3 weeks, or we would be charged for removing it! We went and had a look yesterday and it is builders rubbish (bags of bricks, an old speaker, dust sheets etc), and is just outside one house, so it is pretty obvious whose rubbish it is! Luckily next door work for the council, and they've already phoned to complain, so hopefully the council will track down the building firm responsible. Still, not the best letter to get!

Anyway, I should cheer up as we've got a very good week planned, and I've only got 2 days of work:) On Tuesday we are going to the Phoenix to watch Before Sunrise and Before Sunset (and yes, we have got tickets in advance this time!), followed by a curry. Wednesday is my birthday, and we will hopefully be going to the Odeon, prob to watch Hot Fuzz, or the new Hannibal, followed by Nandos. Thursday and Friday shall be spent relaxing, and my parents are visiting on Saturday. We are then going to see Puressence in the evening, and on Sunday are seeing Stewart Lee:)

My new glasses have arrived already! They feel a bit strange at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get used to them.

I've got a sales training course on Wednesday- yuck, and am working on Saturday morning- hmm. Oh well, only 2 and a half weeks till my birthday & 3 days off work- hurrah!

Yuck, the weekend is over already. The last week has been a bit mixed as always. I was off poorly on Monday & Tuesday as had a high temp, and just felt really achy & weak. Poor Clarky had to look after me again! The rest of the week was alright, but very very busy.

I went to the opticians on Friday, and have finally ordered some new glasses. Not been for an eye test for about 5 years, and was starting to feel like I really couldn't see properly, so it is a relief to finally get it sorted out. They had a 2 for 1 deal as well, so I will be getting some prescription sunglasses for the first time ever- hurrah!

Yesterday Clark and I had a mammoth tv watching session, including the first 2 episodes of the new series of 24. I'm never too sure whether I should start watching the new series or not as I find it a bit frustrating that it lasts for such a long time, and it makes me really tense. Obviously I was sucked in as soon as I saw the first part yesterday!

I've had a bad hangover today as drank a glass of wine & 2 vodka and oranges last night whilst cooking tea & watching tv. Yuck! Didn't get dressed till 5pm, and am now back in bed flicking between trial & retribution & celeb bb.

What is going on with Amazon?! I ordered two presents for Clark on the 6th December, and they've only dispatched them today!!!

I'm off work today as Christmas party tonight. It is absolutely freezing! Went to the hairdressers earlier. They have branched out into kitsch gifts so I've ended up with a "funkey monkey" mug and a knitted bear:) Yay:)

It's been a while since I've posted! Not sure why I've left it so long, still been reading everyone elses.

Had a lovely holiday in Brighton with Clark, though I know he's already posted about it. Ate loads of food, did loads of shopping, and generally had a lovely time. We spotted Keith Miller from Eastenders! It all feels like a long time ago now though as came back to loads of work- yuck!

We went to see Mitchell and Webb at De Montfort Hall on Tuesday. Not being used to going there for comedy, we were a bit surprised that they came on so early (about 8pm), but luckily we got there just in time. They were really really good. Some of the sketches were from the tv show, but there was some new stuff in there as well. The best bit was when they did "Big Talk" and were taking questions from the audience. We now own a Numberwang mug:) Sir Digby Chicken Caesar was really funny too, as was the "Table of Red" song at the end. We really must go and see more comedy.

We are going to see the Charlatans at De Montfort Hall tomorrow which should be good.

Can't believe how soon it is till Christmas. Scary! I bought us some lovely Thornton's advent calendars today though, with our names on them:)
